The way my team set up SMARTS was progressive. Our application’s Site pages follow the order of the project lifecycle, so we’re storing project details, contracts, initial due diligence, rezoning information, entitlements, etcetera. SMARTS goes through the build, the design, the permitting, and the construction, and then we can generate a report specialized to the client’s request that week with the filter feature. It helps us internally with milestone management, but it’s also embedded to where it’s easy to update the client.

The simplicity of having everything in a single place instead of using several different applications, spreadsheets, and emails, made a very elegant way to organize a bunch of information that was constantly changing.

The ability to customize templates and pull reports from SMARTS makes it invaluable for our team. Due to firewalls and company protections, it was hard to share attachments or especially larger files, creating more issues and holding up the project. With the SMARTS platform, I was able to upload the documents right there [in the application], making it a lot easier from a file sharing standpoint.
